I purchased this sculpture from Mauro Pozzobonelli at the Three Rivers Arts Festival here in Pittsburgh.  I saw it hanging in his booth and I returned the next weekend to buy.  The booth was in another location and the piece was missing.  After some dialogue and negotiating, he pulled the relief out from behind the counter for me — as if he were saving it.  These pieces are fairly large, so I was shocked it was back there and thrilled he still had it.  I’m glad he did.  I had researched him — reading that he’s one of America’s most gifted sculptors, and how he crafts his rich tapestries from clay.  Mauro’s relief wallhangings are beautifully done — and this piece was a must have.  It complements my work perfectly.

  1. Dear Mr. Sand–
I am honored to introduce to you an artist who has some of the finest work ethics, some of the greatest skills (in both painting and clay sculpting/eventually bronzes) that I have ever seen; he is a gentleman as well as a Master of ther Fine Arts, and has been commissioned by the Academy of TELEVISION Arts and Sciences to sculpt life-like busts of Dinah Shore (Paul E. Shore’s mom), Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, Norman Leer, James Garner and Michael Landon — it’s also been my honor to have known this Otis-Parson’s Trained Graduate since my boyhood. Please, if you love art and beauty and the richness of the male nude or clothed form, please visit his website at http://www.wimgriffith.com You will be delighted and rewarded — his work is truly mesmerizingand affordable in today’s market. Thank you for reading this recommendation. Sincerely, GREGG OREO greggoreo@gmail.com
