Several men have worked with me now who want to get into modeling, acting or theater. I am often asked this question — can you help me become a male model? They contact me to help them get some photos, build a portfolio, coach them or even make an introduction. I never really thought of myself as an authority on the topic until I was recently told otherwise. Apparently, I have a wealth of knowledge in this area — so much so that men automatically expect me to have answers in this area. After some thinking, I have realized that I’ve photographed well over 100 men now, shot in NYC, Italy and France — and helped several guys get into modeling already, without saying it. To the left is Max — an Italian model I shot in Rome. He’s had success in modeling, as have many others I’ve worked with. Today I decided I should do something about that.
Within the next few months I plan on dedicating a section of my website to “Becoming a male model” – a guide for young men who want some help getting into the business. I guess I should do some blatant self promotion there as well — perhaps listing the ways in which I can help them. I’ve done commissioned portfolio work for many models now, as well as coached them through the process as a coaching engagement. Like a life coach…
For those unable to hire me as a resource, whom I see incredible potential in, I often times work with them in one of my ongoing studies — and return the favor in helping them. While this route takes more time, it is often times rewarding to both of us — beyond financial compensation.
