I purchased this sculpture from Mauro Pozzobonelli at the Three Rivers Arts Festival here in Pittsburgh. I saw it hanging in his booth and I returned the next weekend to buy. The booth was in another location and the piece was missing. After some dialogue and negotiating, he pulled the relief out from behind the counter for me — as if he were saving it. These pieces are fairly large, so I was shocked it was back there and thrilled he still had it. I’m glad he did. I had researched him — reading that he’s one of America’s most gifted sculptors, and how he crafts his rich tapestries from clay. Mauro’s relief wallhangings are beautifully done — and this piece was a must have. It complements my work perfectly.
